Benzyl benzoate is a quiet achiever in perfumery having a dual role as both a fixative and a solvent. Its mild, slightly sweet balsamic scent rarely steals the spotlight but works wonders behind the scenes, boosting the performance of other materials. It can also stabilise volatile ingredients. In floral compositions, it lends a unique smoothness and natural feel to jasmine, tuberose, and ylang-ylang accords. It's also a key component in recreating the rich, warm depth of natural balsams. Thanks to its exceptional solubility, benzyl benzoate is vital in dissolving challenging materials like crystalline musks or stubborn absolutes (as evidenced in our Violet Leaf Superessence in which a small amount of naturally derived benzyl benzoate is combined with natural triethyl citrate for maximum solubility.)
