Habanolide® is considered a metallic or hot iron musk. It is a macrocyclic musk
of the highest quality by Firmenich, indispensable and certainly irreplaceable
(though Globalide® by Symrise is frequently touted as such). Habanolide® is a
radiant musk which adds freshness and vitality.
Habanolide® has featured in numerous modern scents. The writers of Scent and
Chemistry give by way of example Silver Mist (2006) by Alessandro Gualtieri for
Nasomatto, in which it makes up 25% of the fragrance:
