Ortho tertiary-butyl cyclohexyl acetate HC, also known as Verdox HC, is a
classic fruity-green top note with a rather abstract and complex scent. With its
many nuances, it serves as an excellent connector between fruity, woody, and
green notes.
*NOTE: The name Verdox was a proprietary name of IFF for this molecule (OTBCH
ACETATE HIGH CIS). Unfortunately, IFF has discontinued its production. The
version mentioned is from the Indian company Eternis.

Verdox is a lovely green apple top note. It is a demure chemical that doesn't
dominate and can be used in quite high doses to sweeten a blend and soften the
harshness of chemicals like Dihydromyrcenol. It has been used to great effect in
Safari (Ralph Lauren), Ambre Narguile (Hermes), Neroli Portofino (Tom Ford), and
Light Blue Pour Homme by Dolce and Gabbana.
Verdox HC makes outstanding blends with Cashmeran which is almost a basenote
mirror image, and is dynamic when combined with Dihydromyrcenol and Orcanox™.
