An incredibly low-cost animalic that comes from a highly sustainable industry, Wool Absolute is upcycled by Biolandes in France from wool shorn from 100% pasture reared New Zealand sheep. In an age where classic animalics such as civet and deer musk are becoming difficult to obtain, novel products are needed to get the same blending and luxuriating fixative effects. Wool Absolute is a perfect addition to the perfumer's palette as it is the byproduct of an enormous existing industry and is extracted from the animal's wool after shearing. No sheep or lambs are harmed in the process however this would still be considered non-vegan as it is produced by an animal. The scent of this musk is pure rich lanolin with nuances of booze and fruit. For those who have worked on farms or seek a farmyard scent without fecal notes, this is ideal. In terms of animalics it is softer and more genteel than most (in fact it is rather nice to apply a little neat to the skin for its soothing and natural moisturising properties). Excellent for Oud fragrances. Wool Absolute has excellent 10% solubility in ETH, DPG, IPM, DEP, BB and TEC. Starting in 2024, all Fraterworks orders ship using green eco-fuel.
