Celestolide is a bright and diffusive musk that can be used at very high doses
(though it is also effective in low amounts). Arctander has this to say of it:
"Mild, sweet-musky odour with a faint, animal undertone and good tenacity.
Relatively stable under normal conditions in perfume creations. May develop a
slightly sour note during storage, a note which is appreciated by some
perfumers, disliked by others."
Celesolide features in the luxurious Bakhoor Al Arais by Swiss Arabian along
with Cedroxyde [https://fraterworks.com/products/cedroxyde] (for its cedar note)
and luxurious saffron in the form of Safranal.
