Citroneyl formate has a fresh, green, floral scent reminiscent of rose,
geranium, and bergamot. The scent is not particularly strong; undiluted use is
common. Its typical use is in floral accords, especially those of rose and
geranium. You usually use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in fragrance
compositions. In addition to floral scents, it is also used in fougère and
fruity fragrances such as apricot and peach, and in citrus fragrances. In
perfumes, it is primarily a top to middle note; it is stable in most products,
including soap.
