The essential oil, distilled from Manila Elemi, ismainly used for fragrance applications (such as soap and perfumes) and as a basefor liniment. Manila Elemi still finds occasional use as an ingredient inlacquers and varnishes, where it gives toughness and elasticity to the driedfilm.
