Virginian Cedarwood oil (from the cypress family) is the most versatile and important of the various so-called cedarwood oils (the others being Texas, Himalayan and Atlas, the latter two being members of the pine family and not the cypress family). It is an excellent extender to Sandalwood oil, Guaiacwood and Oud and owing to its refined and low-key odour it can be used as a wonderful canvas material upon which to build an entire fragrance.
