A large fruiting tree endemic to West Borneo Aetoxylon (also known as Gaharu Buaya or Black Eaglewood) that is becoming extremely desirable as a new wood note in perfume that is particularly synergistic with agarwood and consequently being used in high amounts in Middle Eastern luxury fragrances where it is easier to obtain. Imagine Oud without the intense animalic quality and you have Aetoxylon. More versatile and appealing even to those who don't normally like Oud. Dress it up for a full Agarwood impression, or use it as it for a lovely complex and little-known wood note.
