Solgard is a virtually odourless blend of industry-standard UV
blockers, conditioners and preservatives used by major fragrance producers. UV
protection is essential for perfumes as light exposure can significantly degrade
fragrance quality, causing unwanted discolouration and altering the carefully
crafted scent profile over time. Solgard protects against UVA/UVB rays, helping
maintain the integrity and appearance of fragrances throughout their shelf life.
It contains Tocopherol (Vitamin E) as a natural antioxidant preservative to
extend stability, avoiding the labelling and perception issues sometimes
associated with synthetic stabilisers. Solgard can be used to pre-fix perfumers
alcohol or added directly to fragrance juice, offering the same
professional-grade protection used throughout the fragrance industry.

Solgard® is a proprietary blend of virtually odourless industry standard UV
blockers, conditioners and preservatives for fine fragrances. Now your products
can benefit from the very same protection used by all the major fragrance
producers.
Solgard offers protection from UVA and UVB rays, potentially reducing
discolouration and changes to the odour profile due to exposure to light.
To support long-term stability, Solgard contains Tocopherol (Vitamin E) as its
antioxidant preservative system. This natural antioxidant helps extend shelf
life without the labelling and perception issues sometimes associated with
synthetic stabilisers. The previous Solgard® B variant, which contained BHT, has
been discontinued and is no longer supplied.
Solgard also contains octyl salicylate, parsol (Neo Heliopan®) and avobenzone.
Typical use is to pre-fix your perfumers alcohol with 1% Solgard (10 grams of
Solgard per kg of ethanol). Alternatively, Solgard can be safely added directly
to your fragrance juice, with typical use from 0.5% – 4%. British, New Zealand
and European destined fragrances should not contain more than 15% Solgard.
