With the highest fixative power of all the iris products, orris resinoid is a hidden gem that far too few perfumers take advantage of. This should not be confused with orris butter which is actually a true essential oil; orris resinoid is deep brown in colour while orris butter (also known as orris concrete) is a white waxy solid. In addition to being a great fixative, Orris Resinoid imparts a lovely sweet Iris root note quite similar to that of orris powder but more intense and certainly more compatible with perfumery. This is perhaps the truest scent of the rhizome as the concrete (essential oil) has a far lighter and less earthy scent. We are selling this resinoid pure and in a 50% dilution in natural (EU & US) Triethyl Citrate as it is difficult to work with pure as it is highly viscous. Please ensure you select the right dilution from the options.
