Gurjun Balsam Oil is a mild oil distilled from the pathological resin of the Dipterocarpus turbinatus tree. Despite its light odour, it is a very useful wood oil for blending stronger wood notes and setting a delicate background when something more interesting than Iso E Super is called for. With a gentle spice running through it and a very long drydown (over 400 hours!) it is an excellent fixative that blends with a great variety of other materials - including florals. Use it with Guaiyl Acetate [https://fraterworks.com/products/guaiyl-acetate] and Cypriol [https://fraterworks.com/products/cypriol-nagarmotha-oil] for the beginnings of your very own luscious agarwood accord. Gjurjun Balsam Oil features in Tom Ford's Black Orchid fragrance, Duro and Baraonda by Nasomatto, Kilian's Apple Brandy and M7 by YSL.
