Rose acetate has a lovely soft scent akin to that of the scent of a deep red rose floating across a great distance. It has facets that are powdery, sweet (almost gourmand) and floral. While it is a nice material in its own right, its true power comes to light when blended with phenyl ethyl alcohol (PEA) as part of a rose accord. Rose crystals have an astonishing ability to add an almost three dimensional effect to PEA, imparting a naturalness and an inimitable quality that is extremely appealing. For any perfumer serious about making good rose bases or sophisticated rose notes, this is an essential material.
