Amaretto is an Italian liqueur flavoured with the almond-scented kernels of apricots. The drink dates back to the town of Saronno in the 16th century and its true origin is unknown. In addition to apricot kernels, some recipes also add bitter almonds and peach kernels. Most importantly the drink is rounded off with a burnt sugar giving rise to its name ("amara" means bitter in Italian). Our Amaretto Saronno base is a wonderfully boozy top note interpretation of the esteemed drink containing all its nuances and character. It can be used as an alternative almond / benzaldehyde note in a scent and we highly recommend blending it with Coconut Dream [https://fraterworks.com/products/coconut-delight] and Raspberry Ripple [https://fraterworks.com/products/raspberry-ripple] for a “wow” gourmand accord.
