Aldehyde C-12 Lauric opens with sharp citrus zest on warm waxy paper. Green stem nuances rise alongside leafy herbs, balanced by creamy fattiness that prevents thinness. Within seconds, violet-rose breath emerges whilst the fatty facet turns pleasantly soapy-clean. You'll find this aldehyde essential for creating classic aldehydic florals where its sparkle makes heavy hearts feel lighter and modern. It excels at brightening citrus openings, making bergamot and lemon more diffusive. Use it at 0.01-0.1% dilution—its power means traces create lasting clean halos without dominating compositions. Blend C-12 Lauric with rose and jasmine for classic aldehydic bouquets or combine with violet and iris for powdery sophistication. Pair with other aldehydes (C-10, C-11) for the full Chanel effect. This material bridges citrus tops with floral hearts beautifully whilst adding pine-fresh complexity. Alongside the classic trio of C-10, C-11 Undecylenic and C-12 MNA, this aldehyde was used in the original Chanel No 5.
