Flouve is the luxury member of the hay family, and while our Hay Absolute
[https://fraterworks.com/products/hay-signature-absolute] from V MANE Fils is
incredibly beautiful, Payan Bertrand's Flouve “Signature” Absolute is sublime.
It carries the IG Absolue Pays de Grasse marque, the highest form of
certification for fragrance materials grown and processed in Grasse.
Steffan Arctander describes it thus: "[Flouve absolute has] a very sweet,
herbaceous, tobacco-like and coumarinic odor. The odor is so rich and so complex
that one can keep on finding notes in it. However, the overall fragrance is a
sweet, licorice-like, root-like, somewhat mossy-herbaceous like wet underforest
and meadows, of exceptional tenacity and high penetrating power. [… U]seful in
chypre, fougere, pine, oriental bases, and in traces as a sweetener for
dry-woody notes which can be modified in a very pleasant way.”
