Hydroxyambran seems demure at first sniff but it is a wonderful material in the
super amber family (though somewhat more woody than ambergris) that is more
versatile and longer lasting than most.
In fact, Hydroxyambran is so long lasting it works as a fixative for Ambrocenide

synergistic with other amber type materials and is particularly good in
combination with Permawood [https://fraterworks.com/products/permawood]™,
Operanide [https://fraterworks.com/products/operanide], Dextro Norlimbanol

Usage

Essential base note providing exceptional fixation and longevity; adds
depth and structure to woody, amber, and oriental fragrances.
Use (Hekserij)
Hydroxyambran has the scent of wood, amber and something sweet: musk, nuts. The
odour is strong, and the substance is usually in solid form. Making a solution
of, for example, 10% can therefore be useful. Although IPM seems most suitable
for this, TEC and DPG are also used in practice to dissolve this substance. Like
virtually every fragrance in this direction, it fits almost everything, whether
or not in combination with similar fragrances. It has a slightly different scent
and offers the perfumer some extra choice. You usually use between 0,1% and 5%
of this substance in the fragrance composition, but it is certainly suitable for
higher doses, where it then will dominate the scent. It adds warmth and subtle
sweetness to the scent. In perfumes it is mainly a base note, it is stable in
most products, including soaps and acidic products.

Hydroxyambran is usually a clear to white solid at room temperature, but in
certain conditions or batches it can be liquid, where it is a colourless, clear
liquid. The purity is at least 97% and the substance has a fairly long shelf
life. It does not occur in nature, it is a synthetic substance.
