East truly does meet West in this most famous of all wild harvested oud oils. Oud Assafi is the result of a collaboration of Bangladeshi master distillers Jalali Agarwood and Swiss fragrance giant Firmenich. Oud Assafi is intensely animalic and woody with a sweet undertone. It is perceptible in traces (which is fortunate given its high price). For a surprising good (and very cost-effective) extender to this treasured essential oil, blend it with a generous amount of Laine de Mouton absolute [https://fraterworks.com/products/wool-absolute]. The two are extremely synergistic and the combination allows a perfumer to mimic the effect of an Oud Assafi overdose. Owing to the intensity of this pure oil and the extremely high price, we are also offering it diluted to 1%, 5% and 10% in natural triethyl citrate, a marvellous odourless diluent produced from citrus.
