Alpha Fenchone is found in many essential oils, particularly fennel, cedarleaf,
and some lavenders. To understand its wonderfully fresh scent we can imagine a
blend of Cashmeran and Geosmin with their earthy notes, blended with herbs,
lavender and camphor. Fenchone is a wonderful chemical that can contribute
wonderfully to freshen and naturalise a blend. It should certainly enjoy a far
greater popularity than it currently has.
We can predict a future fragrance of great beauty that will capitalise on its
complex top notes in combination with Dihydromyrcenol or Coranol.
