This is a very fine quality of lentisque (mastic) oil from LMR. It is a top note herbaceous oil with a terpenic and almost cascarilla-like quality. Wonderful in colognes for a unique top note, this material blends very well with Galbanum oil. The strikingly unique scent of mastic oil conjures up images of antiquity — its rituals, traditions, and the warm sun-soaked breeze of the Aegean sea. Mastic oil is a star in niche and artisanal fragrances. Its inclusion in perfumes such as Diptyque’s Eau de Lierre highlights its fresh, green characteristics, while Serge Lutens' La Myrrhe showcases its resinous, balsamic richness.
