Tropathiane is an incredibly powerful chemical which is virtually identical to the more common Oxane though there are minor differences due to the balance of isomers. Anyone who has smelled the famous Cassis Base 345B [https://fraterworks.com/products/cassis-base-345b] of Firmenich will recognise this family of odours as they are key to that base. Traces of Tropathiane are extremely useful not just for the obvious tropical notes but also for other fruits such as grapefruit. Some consider this a cleaner and easier to use chemical than Oxane which can be quite repellent until you are used to it.
