Cascarilla bark oil is a wonderful spicy oil extracted from the bark of the croton eluteria tree. Most production of the oil takes place in the Bahamas. Our cascarilla is a delight to the senses with an odour profile that walks the line between nutmeg, black pepper and ginger. The bark, dried and processed to remove sapwood and heartwood, yields a pale yellow to amber liquid with a spicy-aromatic, warm-woody, and slightly peppery scent reminiscent of nutmeg, myrtle, and hyssop. Its top note may not appeal initially, but its diffusiveness and strength make it a valued "trace" component in perfumes. Renowned for its complex spiciness and warm, woody undertone, Cascarilla Oil has intrigued perfumers, finding use in chypre bases, Oriental fragrances, men’s colognes, and fantasy scents. It pairs harmoniously with materials like nutmeg, pimento berry oil, oakmoss, and coumarin, offering depth and intrigue to high-class perfumes.
