Para Cresyl Caprylate is the gentle member of the cresyl family. But don't be fooled! While it has a much smaller impact on top notes, it has a wonderfully long dry down and modifying effect. A delicately fecal animalic with traces of hay, ylang-ylang, narcissus and jasmine, this has a surprisingly broad range of applications, from florals to oud recreations. Para Cresyl Caprylate was sometimes used in overdose in honeysuckle and animalic accords, but in smaller amounts (typically under 0.1%) it adds texture and naturalness to florals. This is a material that all perfumers should stock.
