In French, Balade means "ride" and it is a term used in the popular French film "La Balade Sauvage" (The Wild Ride). It is also the name of a marvellous Dior fragrance created by François Demachy and launched in 2018 in their Collection Privée. Alas it has been discontinued from 2024. Balade Sauvage is a light cologne that has perhaps the most wearable representation of a fig note. The scent is hugely popular, garnering 4.3 stars out of 5 on Fragrantica and it contains no EU or IFRA prohibited materials so the discontinuation seems rather odd. Fraterworks now presents this intricate and luxurious scent in compound form for perfumers to understand and appreciate the odour of a masterpiece prior to dilution and mass distribution. The price is very good — in fact it is commercially viable at the 1kg point.
