With the recent news that Heliotropin may be heading for a total ban under the
proverbial butcher's knife of the European Union bureaucracy very soon, it
seemed timely for us to make available our Lilac Supreme base.
Lilac Supreme is a beautiful and complex modern lilac base containing absolutely
no heliotropin. That chemical has long been ubiquitous in Lilac bases but modern
tastes (and now a potential ban on heliotropin in the EU) seek a less powdery
and more transparent floral heart in fragrances. Lilac Supreme is perfect for
that use.
This base is not just interesting for its lack of heliotropin, but also because
it featured in a number of Guerlain perfumes in the late 20th century. It is
also extremely well priced.
NOTE: We currently sell Heliotropin and Heliotropin Natural and will continue to
do so despite any possible ban for EU cosmetics that may come to pass.
