This is isobutyl quinoline on steroids. At trace levels, Isopropyl Quinoline imparts a complex, character-defining signature—metallic, earthy, green-leathery—that endures across every stage of evaporation. Its strength lies not only in tenacity and throw, but in the sheer intensity of its profile. It’s especially valuable in masculine, chypre, and leather compositions, where a touch of sharp verdancy or animalic smoke is needed to lift or ground the structure. Used carefully, it can anchor a base or spark interest in a heart that might otherwise feel flat. We sell it at 10% in DPG because of its strength but we recommend evaluating it at 1% or less to explore the full range. In concentrate, 0.2–2% (in dilution) is usually sufficient—more than that and it can—and will—dominate. Expect high odour strength and excellent stability across most product formats.
