Sophira is the restoration of the classical base Sophora, an artistic copy (created by Marius Reboul of Roure) of the competing Cedarome [https://fraterworks.com/products/cedarome-822188] base by Chuit Naef & Cie. In Sophira, Reboul focussed on the intense vetiver quality of the original base which was a balance of vetiver and cedarwood. Sophira formed the core of Un Air Embaumé by Rigaud in 1912 combined with a healthy dose of Jasmin Blanc [https://fraterworks.com/products/jamin-blanc-638436] and it was key to Tabac Blond by Caron in 1919. It was also used in the magnificent Nuit de Chine (1911, Rosine) in harmony with Rose D'Orient [https://fraterworks.com/products/rose-dorient] and sandalwood. Like most bases of the era, Sophira is built around a delicate balance of other bases, resulting in a very complex and rich foundation for your fragrances.
