Sweeter than its red counterpart (despite being the same plant, Thymus zygis), Thyme ct Linalool has a soft quality which works very well in small doses to impart a non-specific herbal note to fragrances. Overdoses can give an interesting character, a trick exploited by François Coty in his original and rare Cologne Eau de Coty (1909) which later inspired Edmond Roudnitska to create Eau Sauvage (1966) for Dior. The difference between White Thyme (this one) and Red Thyme (ct Thymol) is the growing conditions. Thyme ct Borneol, on the other hand, is from Thymus satureoides.
