METAL OXAZOLE (AKA Sclarene) opens with an immediate dry woody impact that's distinctly different from typical wood notes—there's something almost mineral-like in its presentation. This sclareol derivative doesn't smell of clary sage but rather presents a fascinating herbal-metallic character reminiscent of heated metal or steam rising from hot iron. The camphor facet adds coolness without menthol's sharpness, while earthy-green undertones ground the composition. What makes this material unique is its ability to suggest temperature—it smells warm yet cool, dry yet moist, creating an almost synesthetic experience. At 80% in DPG, this Givaudan specialty delivers consistent, powerful effects.
