The sulphurous character provides the exotic depth that makes tropical fruit accords convincing, while galbanum-like freshness adds crisp green naturalism. This is one of perfumery's most powerful materials, revealing its true beauty only at significant dilution. This iconic Firmenich molecule (discovered 1974) forms a cornerstone of the legendary Thioxane base, and Cassis Base that has defined blackcurrant accords for decades. It delivers the sulphurous tropical character found naturally in passion fruit. The 60-hour substantivity on blotter belies its top note character; despite being highly volatile, Oxane's impact persists through sheer potency. Work with Oxane at 50% dilution (as supplied) and dose with extreme caution.
