Jasmophore, famed for its use in the original Joy formula, opens with a wall of
dense, heady jasmine that immediately conjures the richness of natural
grandiflorum absolute. The character is profoundly indolic with a slightly
rubbery, lactonic warmth that sits between salicylate freshness and animalic
depth. It smells unashamedly vintage — full-bodied, opaque, and intensely
diffusive.
This is a jasmine base engineered for classical composition styles: aldehydic
florals, opulent chypres, and grand floral bouquets built with rose, civet, and
amber. The thiophenes and furans within the formula provide a naturalistic
complexity that single jasmine molecules cannot achieve alone. Pair it with
aldehydes, galbanum, and musk to build a convincing 1930s floral structure, or
blend with rose absolute and sandalwood for a lush white floral heart.
