Usage

Use (Hekserij)

Aldehyde C10 has an odour that is difficult to describe. Perfumers simply call it the scent of aldehyde. It is somewhat reminiscent of fat, oil, wax, but it is also often associated with clean and fresh. The scent is very strong, it is almost always used in dilution. A 10% dilution is common, but a 1% dilution may be useful. It is not necessary to dilute yourself: we already sell a 10% dilution of Aldehyde C10 in DPG elsewhere in the webshop.

Physical properties

Aldehyde C10, or decanal, is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. The purity after production is at least 97%. The substance does not have a long shelf life, the substance is converted into so-called trimers or decanoic acid. This makes the smell less strong, but it can still be used. The substance occurs in nature, but the synthetic version is used for use as a fragrance. This is usually based on vegetable raw materials.
