alpha Isomethyl ionone has a powdery scent: orris, violet, but also tobacco and
wood. The scent is not too strong and blends well with other scents, therefore
there is no reason to dillute this material.
Physical properties

At room temperature alpha Isomethyl ionone is a pale yellow to yellow liquid, at
least 90% pure. The material can be stored for a long time, it does not occur in
nature, it is a synthetic. In general we supply an IFF quality: methyl ionone
gamma coeur. Other names for this substance include gamma methyl ionone or just
methyl ionone. Unfortunately there are different methyl ionones that all can
bear this same name.
