Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Boisiris (Giv) has a scent reminiscent of the ionones: wood and orris root. In
addition, aspects of tobacco and amber. The scent is not particularly strong,
undiluted use is common. Typical use is in woody accords, especially when orris
root or tobacco scents are needed. You usually use between 1% and 30% of this
substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with other wood and
iris notes, but also with citrus, for example. It adds warmth and depth to the
scent and can contribute to a stronger diffusion. In perfumes it is mainly a
heart to base note, it is stable in most products, also in soap.

Boisiris (Giv) is a colourless to light yellow liquid at room temperature. The
purity is at least 92% and the substance has a fairly long shelf life. It does
not occur in nature, it is a synthetic product. The manufacturer is the Swiss
Givaudan.
