Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Cinnamon alcohol has a sweet spicy scent reminiscent of sweet flowers and
spices. The fragrance is not particularly strong and can therefore be used
undiluted. Typical use is in narcotic floral scents such as hyacinth or oriental
scents. You usually use between 0.1% and 4% of this substance in the fragrance
composition, but in older formulations an outlier to 20% or more is possible. It
combines well ambers and certain floral scents, such as rose. It is primarily a
base note in perfumes and is stable in most products, including soap.
Physical properties

Cinnamon alcohol is a yellow liquid or solid at room temperature. It may be
helpful to have a water bath on hand to liquefy the contents. The purity is at
least 98%. The substance has a reasonable shelf life, but is sensitive to
oxidation by oxygen from the air. The substance occurs in nature, in spices and
flowers. For use as a fragrance, the synthetic version is used.
