Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Cis-3-Hexenyl Acetate has a green fruity scent reminiscent of fruits such as
apple, pear, melon and banana. The smell is quite strong, making a dilution of
for example 10% (in DPG for example) can therefore be useful. Very versatile:
can be used, for example, in fruit, citrus and floral scents. You usually use up
to 2% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It gives a nice fruit
scent when diluted, but in higher doses it becomes a bit greasy and sweeter.
Also goes well with the scent of white flowers such as ylang, jasmine and
magnolia. It is primarily a top note in perfumes and is stable in most products.
It is also surprisingly stable in difficult products such as soap and deodorant.

cis-3-Hexenyl acetate is a colorless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature.
The purity is at least 97%, the substance has a fairly long shelf life. The
substance occurs in nature, but the synthetic version is used for use as a
fragrance.
