Clonal (IFF) has a citrus scent (orange, mandarin) with notes of metal,
aldehyde, and ozone. The scent is not particularly strong; undiluted use is
common. It is in general used in citrus accords and marine accords. You
typically use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in fragrance compositions.
It combines well with dihydromyrcenol, citral, other aldehydes, and musks. It
adds a metallic touch to fragrances. It's rarely used in perfumes, and if mainly
because of its metallic note; it's primarily a base note. It is completely
stable in most products, including soaps, acidic products, scented candles, and
even bleach.

Clonal (IFF) is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature. Its
purity is at least 98%, and the substance has a long shelf life. It's virtually
nonexistent in nature; the synthetic version is used for fragrance use. This is
largely based on plant-based raw materials. The manufacturer is IFF; Clonal is
their brand name. The generic name is dodecane nitrile.
This fragrance won't smell good to everyone, especially in its pure form and
without other fragrances. It's also possible that it works sometimes and
sometimes not, or works in one batch and not in another.
