CO2 Ambrette seed has a warm spicy scent that is not very strong. It can
therefore be used undiluted. It is especially popular with natural perfumers
because of its musky scent and the fact that it contains quite a lot of natural
ambrettolide. Ambrettolide is very popular among perfumers, even in minute
quantities, because it strongly suppresses the smell of alcohol. In 'normal'
perfumery, CO2 Ambrette seed is a good substance for making musk accords smell
less synthetic. Usually you use between 0,1% and 10% of this substance in the
fragrance composition. It goes great with vetiver, but also goes well with other
woody scents. It is mainly a base note in perfumes.

CO2 Ambrette seed is a light yellow to yellow liquid at room temperature. It has
a fairly long shelf life, if stored in a cool, dry and dark place (NOT in the
refrigerator).
