Usage

Use (Hekserij)

DMBC has a spicy floral scent that in its pure form can be somewhat medicinal, much like phenylethyl alcohol. When diluted, it provides a nice punch for flowers like rose, jasmine and narcissus. The smell is not very strong, so it can be used undiluted. Typical use is in floral chords as mentioned, where it adds some character in the form of spicy accents. You usually use between 0.5% and 10% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It is primarily a top note in perfumes and is stable in most products, including soap. Keep cool, dry, dark and out of reach of children.

Physical properties

DMBC is a colorless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature, although it may solidify on cold storage. The purity is at least 99%. The substance has a fairly long shelf life. The substance does not occur in nature, it is a synthetic substance.
