EO Ginger Root (org) has a warm citrus scent with green and spice aspects. It is
reminiscent of the smell of ginger, but has more of a citrus character. It pairs
well with citrus and conifer scents, such as lemon and pine, adding spice and
warmth. In smaller quantities it is very versatile, in larger quantities
especially in spicy fresh scents. Making a solution of, for example, 10% can be
useful in some cases, so DPG is a good choice. You usually use between 0.1% and
10% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It is one of those
substances that is difficult to divide into top / heart and base. In high doses
it is mainly a top to heart note, in lower doses it is often more of a heart to
base note. Less suitable in soap, the smell is affected and the oil can lead to
discoloration.
Physical properties

EO Ginger root (org) is a light yellow to yellow-brown liquid at room
temperature, the substance has a fairly long shelf life. The oil is made by
steam distillation from the rhizomes of the Zingiber officinale Roscoe, or
ginger. Like any essential oil, this one is a mixture of various substances. An
indication of the composition is the following:
> 25% - Zingibereen
10-25% - Curcumene, Germacrene D, beta Sesquifellandrene
5-10% - Camphene, Citral, Alpha Farneseen
2-5% - Gamma Cadinene, Alpha Cedrene, 1,8-Cineol, Geraniol, Geranyl Acetate
1-2 % - Limonene, Linalool, Alpha Pinene
