Essential oil Clary Sage has a sweet, spicy scent with aspects of musk, hay,
lavender, but also other herbs and spices. Because musk scents in particular are
rare in the plant world, this oil is very important for plant perfumery. The
scent can be pronounced, but this can vary per batch. Dilution is therefore
usually not necessary. It is a very versatile oil, but most classic is in
fougère, chypre and amber scents. Floral scents such as rose and orchid lend
themselves well to use with Clary Sage essential oil. In perfumes it is mainly a
heart and top note, but the base notes are strongly present. Fairly stable, also
in soap.

Clary Sage essential oil is an essential oil that is made by steam distillation
of the above-ground parts of clary sage. At room temperature it is liquid and
often colourless, but sometimes also light or dark yellow. Clary sage, is a
plant from the sage family. Sometimes the plant is fermented for distillation,
but the fresh herb can also be used. Our oil belongs to the latter type. When
growing the plants for making this oil, no use is made of artificial fertilisers
and no, or minimal use of pesticides.
