Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Galbanum essential oil has a green, spicy scent that is quite strong and can
easily overpower a fragrance composition. Therefore, a 10% dilution can be
beneficial. Use this in, for example, DPG, TEC, or strong alcohol. It combines
well with scents such as citrus, wood, herbs, and spices. It is also a classic
green note in certain floral fragrances such as hyacinth, gardenia, and
tuberose. It works particularly well in fougère, chypre, but also in fragrances
with lavender or rose. It is primarily a top note in perfumes and is quite
stable in many products, including soap.
Physical properties

Galbanum essential oil is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at room
temperature. The substance is sensitive to sunlight and atmospheric oxygen and
therefore has a limited shelf life. To meet IFRA requirements, we add a small
amount of tocopherol (Vitamin E) to this oil to reduce the risk of oxidation.
Otherwise, it is a pure essential oil.
