Usage

Essential oil Patchouli Indonesia has an earthy, and spicy scent, reminiscent of
moss and wood. It combines well with many other scents like flowers, wood,
spices, ambers and so on. Patchouli is one of the building blocks of chypre and
fougere perfumes. It adds depth, improves radiance and makes many fragrances
last longer. You usually use between 0,1% and 5% of this substance in the
fragrance composition, but a little more is not a problem from a safety point of
view. It is mainly a base note in perfumes and is stable in most products,
including soap.
Physical properties

Essential oil Patchouli Indonesië is a yellow to orange brown liquid at room
temperature. The substance has a very long shelf life, in principle unlimited,
although the scent changes over the years and the oil thickens to a very viscous
consistency. The oil is made by steam distillation from the dried leaves of
Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth..
