Tagetes essential oil is a yellow to green liquid at room temperature. It has a
relatively long shelf life. The oil is produced by steam distillation from the
flowering tops of Tagetes minuta L. Like all essential oils, this one is a
mixture of various substances. An indication of the composition is as follows:
> 25% - beta-Ocimene
5-10% - Dihydrotagetone, Limonene, cis-Tagetone
2-5% - Piperitone
1-2% - beta-Caryophyllene
