Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Helional has a fresh floral scent that is reminiscent of cyclamen, but also of
water, algae, ozone. Since its market introduction in the late 1960s, it has
been used in many famous perfumes, first often in combination with Hedione,
later with Calone. The scent is not particularly strong, undiluted use is
common. It is used very widely, especially for fresher scents. You usually use
between 0,1% and 20% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines
well with green flowers, fruit, citrus and marine scents. It has an effect on
perfume in many ways like hedione, but less strong and then in the green fresh
direction. In perfumes it is mainly a heart to base note, it is surprisingly
stable, in soap and candles it can be used well, in powders and the like
preferably not.

Helional (IFF) is a colourless to light yellow liquid at room temperature. The
purity is at least 96% and the substance has a reasonably long shelf life. It
does not occur in nature, it is a synthetic substance. The manufacturer is the
American IFF.
