Usage
Use (Hekserij)
alfa Irone has a powdery iris scent. The scent is medium strong, so dilution is
not necessary. Typical use is in iris and wood accords. You usually use between
0,1% and 1% of this substance in the fragrance composition, but that is mainly
because of the high price. There is basically no reason why you would not use
10%, or more. It goes well with floral scents such as rose and violet and with
fruity scents such as blackcurrant, raspberry and plum. It is mainly a base note
in perfumes and is also stable in soap. It is less stable in very acidic
products.

alpha Irone is a colourless to light yellow liquid at room temperature. The
substance has a fairly long shelf life. The substance occurs in nature,
including in iris root and raspberries.
