Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Isobutyl Quinoline (Sym) has a somewhat sweet scent reminiscent of leather,
saffron and hazelnut. The scent is not very strong, but can easily dominate. In
leather and tobacco compositions you will nevertheless use larger amounts (up to
5%) and dilution is not necessary. For an accent, making a dilution of, for
example, 10% can be useful. Outside of use in leather and tobacco accords, it is
suitable in smaller quantities for woody scents, especially vetiver. Also in
green scents, amber and spicy scents. It is mainly a heart note in perfumes.
Little is known about the stability, but given the structure you would expect a
decent stability.

Isobutyl Quinoline (Sym) is a pale yellow to yellow liquid at room temperature.
The purity is at least 95%. The substance has a fairly long shelf life and does
not occur in nature. The manufacturer is the German Symrise.
