Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Labdanum absolute has a spicy wood and amber scent with green aspects. The scent
is not particularly strong, but it is a very viscous substance. Making a
dilution of, for example, 10 or 25% can therefore be useful. You use it in amber
accords, but also in chypres, in leather scents, tobacco scents and wood.
Usually you use between 0,1% and 10% of this substance in the fragrance
composition. It goes well with spicy scents, resins, wood, spices but also with
floral scents. Although there are similarities with labdanum resinoide there are
also very clear differences. In perfumes it is mainly a base note and is stable
in most products. It can also be used in soap, although resinoide may be a
better choice.

Labdanum absolute is a yellow to brown very viscous liquid at room temperature.
The substance has a fairly long shelf life, provided it is stored in a cool, dry
and dark place (NOT in the refrigerator).
