Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Majantol (Sym) has a floral scent reminiscent of lily of the valley. The scent
is not particularly strong, undiluted use is common. Typical use is in green
floral accords, especially of lily of the valley. You usually use between 0,1%
and 8% of this substance in the fragrance composition. It combines well with
other green scents, but also with many types of floral scents. In perfumes it is
mainly a base note.

Majantol (Sym) is either a colourless to pale yellow liquid or a translucent to
white-yellow solid at room temperature. The melting point should be 24 °C, but
in practice it can be liquid at lower temperatures and solid at higher
temperatures. The purity is at least 98% and the substance has a fairly long
shelf life. It meets the IFRA requirement that it may contain a maximum of 25
ppm organochlorine compounds. It does not occur in nature, it is a synthetic
substance. The manufacturer is Symrise.
