Usage
Use (Hekserij)
Octacetal (IFF) has a pungent scent of citrus and aldehyde, in addition, the
green has spicy aspects. The fragrance is not very strong and can be used in
larger quantities, therefore octacetal does not need to be diluted. It is a very
suitable background fragrance, primarily for fresh, light scents with a citrus
character. But also for greener floral scents such as rose and hyacinth. It is
primarily a top note in perfumes and is stable in most products, including soaps
and candles. It should not be used in pale and very acidic products (pH < 3).
Physical properties

Octacetal (IFF) is a clear, colorless liquid at room temperature. The purity is
at least 98%, the substance has a long shelf life. Octacetal hardly occurs in
nature and the synthetic version is used for use as a fragrance. The
manufacturer is IFF.
